A Season for Everything

I really enjoy the beginning of every season. Every season brings things that I love.

I love Fall and watching God show off as the trees change colors and the breeze gets brisk. Sweatshirts and camp fires and days of sitting in bleachers watching football.

I love Winter, especially snow. Love when everything is quiet and white from a first snow. Watching the kids sled and make snowmen and then hot chocolate and a warm fire.

Spring brings fresh life. I adore watching everything bloom and come back to life, the sound of lawn mowers and weed eaters.

Then last but not least I love Summer. Warm bright sun shining days, lazy days by the pool, lots of kids only concerned about the amount of sunscreen they have on and splashing around. Late nights catching fire flies in the back yard and grills making yummy food.

God says in HIS word “There is a time for everything, and a season of every activity under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

This season of my life is a season that I didn’t really plan for, but God sure did. Just as He sets in motion the four seasons I love and experience, HE has done the same thing for my life. Setting in motion a new season for me.

In the coming months I will be introducing you all to my new ministry. Well, it is kinda new. It really is just a continuation of what Jeff and I have been doing the last 19 years for Jesus.

I would like to ask each of you to pray for this season in my life. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has equipped me with everything I need to continue the work Jeff and I were doing when he died.

It’s really scary for me to be doing it alone and exciting as HE shows me exactly what I need to focus on.

Wont you pray for this next season for me and my family?

My prayer is this “ If YOUR presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” Exodus 33:15

Plain and simple prayer from my heart.

You are going to like this…

Jeff had one possession on this earth (besides us of course) that he loved and that was his Bible. You never saw Jeff anywhere without his water bottle and his Bible.

I keep Jeff’s Bible on my bedside table. The other night I got so tickled at myself I could barely stand it, so I thought I would share what happened.

I went to see a movie and by the time I reached my car I was in full blown tears. Anyone that has grieved knows that sometimes our grief just shows up at the most unexpected times. This was one of those times. I drove all the way home sobbing pleading with God to see my hurt and broken heart.

I got home and immediately went to my bedroom. I laid on my bed and picked up Jeff’s Bible and laid it over my face. Okay I know that sounds strange but you see I can still smell Jeff in the pages of his Bible. Its like me being with him. So there I am laying on the bed with his Bible open, over my face tears flowing!!

All of the sudden I start to think about what Jeff would say if he was watching me and I started to laugh hysterically.

I just pictured Jeff looking at me from Heaven and saying,

“ Honey, quit smelling that Bible and read it.”

Oh my goodness I know you can picture it too!!

So I took that Bible off of my face( haha )and began to read God’s promises to me. Page after page, promise after promise…

“Behold I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book.” Revelation 22:7

Still in HIS Grip!! Forever and always!!

I love you Jeff

I wanted to write something this morning and before I could even think of what to write Noah posted a picture of Jeff on Instagram with this message,

“ 1 year ago today, the earth lost one of the most amazing men to ever live. Its crazy how much I miss you more and more everyday. I didn’t think I could make it without you, but somehow I did. I love you Dad.”

So perfectly written by my son. I feel the same way. I miss Jeff more and more every day. I cling to the promises of God that one day we will all be together again. God has sustained us and given us everything we needed this year. I don’t understand the ways of the Almighty always but I believe they are perfect and in HIS time I will understand everything.

HE has shown me how to see beauty in the ashes, and how to live and see life one moment at a time.

I know that Jeff is standing with Jesus today celebrating one year with HIM! So, don’t forget that Jeff is where he longed to be his whole life! In the arms of the Father! I have that same longing, but for now I know that God continues to have purpose for my life and all of the lives around me. I pray that I will not miss one thing God has for me this year. I pray that my arms would stay wide open in praise to HIM!

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.- Matthew 9:36
